1confirmation Fund Sweeps 16 Squiggles

On April 23rd someone swept 16 Squiggles off of the floor. They were added to an anon wallet that then boasted a collection of 21 total Squiggles (along with multiple CryptoPunks + Beeples).

It was later discovered that the wallet belonged to 1confirmation, “an early stage venture fund that supports exceptional founders fueling the decentralization of the web and society.”

Art Blocks Announces Dates For Marfa

The 4th annual Art Blocks Marfa Weekend will be held November 14-17th, 2024 in Marfa, Texas. Last year there was more than 700 people attending and they anticipate this year to be even larger!

If you’ve ever met someone who has experienced Marfa Weekend, they will tell you that it is one of the most special events of the year.

SquiggleDAO will be holding an event during the weekend and we are excited to release more details soon!

Aaron Wright & Seedphrase Join us for their own Podcast Episodes

Firstly, S2E3 featured Aaron Wright, the co-founder of Tribute Labs, a company that creates and supports DAOs, such as The LAO, Flamingo, and Neon.

In the episode, Nifty talks with Aaron about his early interest and influence in crypto and DAOs, some insights into the world of building DAOs, and the future of generative art and Squiggles.

Secondly, S2E4 featured Seedphrase, a leading collector, investor and entrepreneur. He is the owner of iconic pieces such as an Autoglyph Full Set and the only 7 attribute CryptoPunk.

In the episode, Nifty & Jared talk with Seedphrase about his start to crypto and investing in Bitcoin, discovering CryptoPunks and generative art, his thesis on Squiggles, and the future of the Seedphrase brand.

Snowfro Celebrates His Birthday

On May 6th, we celebrated Erick “Snowfro” Calderon’s birthday by sharing a few fun and interesting facts about our favorite artist:

1/ Erick “Snowfro” Calderon, where does “Snowfro” come from? In his college days, Erick got his first taste for entrepreneurship by starting a snow cone stand. Curly hair + delicious frozen treats = a now iconic pseudonym

2/ In an interview with @montyreport Erick describes his younger self as “incredibly curious.” He would take apart electronics and try to put them back together. Interesting because years later, people who know Erick often describe him with the words “curious” or “tinkerer.”

3/ We were fortunate to have a long time friend of Erick @bygbyrd1234 on our podcast last year and he told us some great stories about Erick. One that stood out was the time Erick brought a CryptoPunk to give away as a gift at an office Christmas party gift game.

We couldn’t say enough good things about Erick and this DAO would not exist without his contribution to art.

Avant Arte worked with Snowfro to celebrate Chromie Squiggle #8107 with an incredibly detailed and meticulous printing process that mimics how each Chromie Squiggle is digitally arranged.

These prints have been arriving and we love seeing them framed so beautifully.
